Festival fave, programmed by young people
Kauwboy, a film by debut director Boudewijn Koole, and presented by Open Door Film Club, was voted the audiences favourite film of the festival, with an average ‘star rating’ of 4.9 out of 5.
The film was selected, and introduced, by a group of young people as part of a project run between the Festival and Berwick Youth Project in which the collective – known as Open Door Film Club – were asked to programme a film for the festival for other people of their age group. It seems they certainly selected the best choice, as not only did the film win an award at Berlinale, but was clearly the audience favourite at Berwick!
Open Door Film Club’s Lee and Felicity introduced the film on Sunday 29th September at a special screening at The Maltings, as part of the Festival, and supported by Community Foundation.
