Meet the Team
With just over 2 months to go, we'd like to introduce you to the Festival team - led by Festival Director, Melanie Iredale. (From left to right: Charlie Gregory, Gerry Maguire, Melanie Iredale, Jenny Heald, Eleanor Forsyth).
Melanie has directed the Festival's growth since 2009, leading on all aspects of commissioning, curating and programming, as well as project development and fundraising. Melanie previously managed the Northern Lights Film Festival and is also Development Consulant for Sheffield Doc/Fest.
The Festival's longest serving member of staff is Administrator & Finance Officer Jenny, our office guru who keeps the company's finances and administration on track.
Festival Coordinator Charlie assists Melanie in developing the programme of films and installations, as well as leading on the Festival's youth programme. She is also an artist and project coordinator at Isis Arts.
Eleanor has a background in developing arts festivals and events and destination marketing and joined the team this year as Marketing & Development Officer. She works closely with Melanie across the fundraising, sponsorship and marketing of the Festival.
The newest member of the team is Volunteers & Production Coordinator Gerry Maguire. Gerry is a filmmaker and digital media producer, with credits including BAFTA-nominated I Am Nasrine, which had its premiere in Berwick in 2011.
We are also delighted to be working with a dynamic duo of PR professionals this year - our regional PR Manager Nicky Harrison of White Hot Communications will be joined by film PR guru Clare Wilford, who will be working to increase the Festival's national PR profile. Happy to have you on board Nicky and Clare!
