National and National Premieres announced for Berwickshire Film Fest!

We’re delighted to announce the short films screening as part of the Berwickshire Film Festival; 09 – 11 July in Coldstream, Duns and Eyemouth! Taken from our call for submissions (a total of almost 100 films – so far!), happy to say we’ll be screening the following:

‘Smile’ by North East animator Chloe Rodham, about an acrobat dancer and a clown, and unrequited love at the Circus. Screening with Charlie Chaplin’s The Circus at 1pm on Friday 09 July in Coldstream. ‘Smile’ is a World Premiere for Berwickshire Film Fest.

‘The Cardboard Orchestra’ by Scott Buchanan Barden, a dramatic and absurd performance of Gustav Mahler's masterpiece. Screening with Lotte Reiniger’s The Adventures of Prince Achmed at 4pm on Friday 09 July in Coldstream and at 1pm on Saturday 10 July in Duns. ‘The Cardboard Orchestra’ is a World Premiere for Berwickshire Film Fest.

‘The Neighbours’ by Scottish filmmaker David McKay, an adaptation of a Raymond Carver short story, featuring Peter Mullan (Red Riding, Young Adam). Screening with Nick Whitfield’s Skeletons at 7pm on Friday 09 July in Coldstream and Sunday 11 July in Eyemouth. ‘The Neighbours’ is a Scottish Premiere for Berwickshire Film Fest.

‘Freeze’ by Voice of My Own, a drama about a young carer in the Scottish Borders, made by local young carers and filmmakers, and featuring music by Thom Yorke, Screening with Catherine Breillat’s Bluebeard at 7pm on Saturday 10 July in Duns.

‘Sprinkles’ by Chloe Rodham, director of ‘Smile.’ An animated tale of an ice cream vendor, a lady on the pier, and missed opportunities. Screening with The Entertainer starring Laurence Olivier at 4pm on Sunday 11 July in Eyemouth. ‘Sprinkles’ is a Scottish Premiere for Berwickshire Film Fest.
