A Live Road Movie to tour to London Short Film Festival

A Live Road Movie in Super8 and Sound saw Edinburgh-based found film collectors Screen Bandita team up with Glaswegian topsy-turvy quartet The One Ensemble for an audio-visual adventure on the open road. Marrying archive super8 film with old slide photographs, together with a newly composed score, the Banditas and the band tell tales of voyages unknown through the whirr of the projector and a symphony of sound.

Commissioned by the Festival with the support of PRS For Music Foundation and Arts Council England, the event premiered in Berwick in September, before touring to Aberdeenshire where it opened the Sound Festival in October.

In the New Year, Screen Bandita and The One Ensemble hit the road again, this time heading to the capital, where A Live Road Movie will be performed as part of London Short Film Festival’s Night of Celluloid.

Described by the Guardian Guide as “The Best Short Film Festival in the World,” LSFF is certainly one of London’s major film events. Previous Festival commissions have gone on to tour to Edinburgh International Film Festival and as far as the British Council’s UK Now Festival in Chongqing, China, and we’re delighted to see A Live Road Movie travel to London Short Film Festival.

A Night of Celluloid takes place at The Roxy on Sunday 6th January, at 6.30pm. For more details, and to book tickets, click here.

Meanwhile, another of our commissions last year, Photographers by BlackLab, has had over 32,000 views since it premiered as part of the Festival’s Opening Gala.
