Youth Programme initiated with Resident Evil: Retribution UK Premiere
Paul W.S. Anderson and Hollywood superstar Milla Jovovich bring the biggest and boldest installment of the Resident Evil franchise to Premiere as part of the Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival.
Not happy with just screening the film, young people from the Berwick Film Academy created a night of entertainment starting at the Berwick Youth Project's Beehive for face painting, blood splattering and all round zombie creation alongside music and Resident Evil wii gaming on the big screen.
A horde of Zombies then hit the streets of Berwick upon Tweed, gathering outside the Maltings Theatre & Cinema for a rendition of 'The Thriller Dance'... in the pouring rain!
Prizes were at stake for best zombie outfit and impersonation with 10 of the best creations on stage competiting for the title of Best Zombie. Dan Cox won the overall prize winning a Resident Evil: Retribution Poster signed by Paul W.S. Anderson and Milla Jovovich and a copy of the new Resident Evil 6 video game donated by Grainger Games. All 10 zombies were given an exclusive limited edition Resident Evil: Retribution baseball cap supplied by Nobis Clothing.
Paul and Milla were unable to attend the screening but Paul's sister, who lives in Newcastle upon Tyne, attended along with her husband to send photo's and let the director and star know how we put on the first screening of their film in the UK. As they were unable to attend Paul and Milla recorded a special introduction showing their support for the festival, the youth programme and specifically the Chris Anderson Award named in memory of his father.
The film was a big hit with audience making this a great debut in the UK and a probable UK number one slot next week.
