Announcing the winner of the Inntravel Short Film Awards

We are proud to announce the winner of the third annual Inntravel Short Film Awards. The award showcases and celebrates the short form work being created across the UK and internationally. Presenting a cash prize of £750 and a handcrafted trophy by Glaswegian ceramicist Mariella Verkek, the prestigious awards are a highlight of the Festival.

After careful deliberation, our jury selected Consider the Belvedere by Julie Feyrer and Tamara Henderson from Canada. The short mixes film, sculpture, writing and book-making and takes the form of a detective story shot on location at The Banff Centre and in Vancouver at the Belvedere apartment complex.

Steve Jack, Communications Manager at Inntravel, said, “Our warmest congratulations to Julie Feyrer and Tamara Henderson from Canada, winners of this year’s Inntravel Short Film Award for their ground-breaking, multi-faceted work, Consider the Belvedere. Well done, too, to all the other short-listed finalists in this third instalment of the awards, which showcase and celebrate the short form work being created across the UK and internationally. I’m mightily relieved we had such an expert and distinguished jury on hand to decide the winner!”

Our expert jury was comprised of: Beatrice Gibson (UK), celebrated artist and filmmaker with recent exhibitions including Collective, Edinburgh, CAC Bretigny, Index Contemporary Art Centre, Stockholm, The Showroom, London, and Kunstlerhaus Stuttgart; Salomé Lamas (Portugal), filmmaker whose work includes The Tower (2015), Le Boudin (2014), Theatrum Orbis Terrarium (2013), The Community (2012), Encounters with Landscape 3X (2012) and No Man’s Land (2012, screened in the 2015 Festival programme); and Fatos Üstek (Turkey), independent curator and writer, currently acting as Art Fund curator at fig-2, curating 50 exhibitions in 50 weeks at ICA Studio.
