'Ida' scoops BAFTA prize!
We delighted that the film which closed our 10th edition in September 2014 has won a BAFTA!
Ida is set in Poland, 1962. Anna is a beautiful eighteen-year-old woman, preparing to become a nun at the convent where she has lived since orphaned as a child. She learns she has a living relative she must visit before taking her vows, her mother's sister Wanda. Together, the two women embark on a voyage of discovery of each other and their past.
Nominated alongside Leviathan, The Lunchbox, Trash and Two Days, One Night in the Film not in the English language category, Ida's success surely bodes well for the Oscar nomination!
Congratulations and best of luck to director Pawel Pawlikowski!
