Take part in Berwick Film Academy this summer!

We're so excited to have teamed up with Berwick Youth Project once again, to offer an opportunity for 15 – 19 year olds in the Berwick area to learn filmmaking skills, and to produce their own short film over the summer.

Berwick Film Academy 2012 will train young people in all aspects of filmmaking, producing a short film of their own, and organising a premiere screening to launch it as part of the 8th edition of our Festival this September.

The project begins with a series of 3 evening workshops led by professional filmmakers James Harris & Laura Degnan from Writers Block North East, facilitated by our very own Adam Graham, with the support of Berwick Youth Project staff. The workshops will take place as part of the weekly Film Night sessions at Berwick Youth Project’s Beehive on Golden Square, Berwick, at 6pm on Thursday 26th July, Thursday 2nd August and Thursday 7th August.

The group will then put all the skills they've learned in the session to the test in an intensive three day filmmaking challenge, shooting their film on location in Berwick between Monday 13th – Wednesday 15th August, 10am – 4pm.

Berwick Film Academy’s final film will then receive its World Premiere at The Maltings Theatre & Cinema as part of the annual Festival on Saturday 22nd September 2012.

All 3 workshops and the 3-day film challenge are completely free of charge!

If you are aged 15-19, live in Berwick-upon-Tweed area and are interested in filmmaking then we want to hear from you!
