New Commission I World Premiere
Addictive TV have performed in over fifty countries now, creating electronic music with a difference - it's music you can see.
This September the duo will bring their unique, mind-bending live entertainment to Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival - where they will perform live a never-before-seen (or heard!) VJ set, featuring samples and live music from local Northumbrian musicians.
Having spent the last four years filming improvised recording sessions with over 100 individual musicians in over twenty countries, from South America to West Africa –this Summer they will come to Berwick to record folk artists for this show.
Percussionists, singers, flautists, guitarists and much more, all sampled and blended together to form a virtual group of musicians who never met, and resulting in an electrifying performance, Orchestra of Samples.
Addictive TV have remixed movies as alternative trailers for many of the Hollywood studios, including Paramount, 20th Century Fox and Universal for films such as Iron Man, Fast & Furious and Danny Boyle's Oscar winning Slumdog Millionaire.
They were instrumental in the development of Pioneer's DVJ DVD turntables, being the first artists to have them back in 2003, and these days are working closely with both German DJ software giant Native Instruments and Dutch video software designers Resolume testing software for a new Mac based audio/video performance set-up.
Having appeared everywhere from the Pompidou Centre in Paris to the Museum of Contemporary Arts in Shanghai and even at this year's Glastonbury Festival, Addictive TV are set to perform the new show as the Friday night highlight of Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival at The Maltings Theatre & Cinema on 19th September.
The project is supported by Newcastle University’s Institute for Creative Arts Practice, while the live event is sponsored by Simpsons Malt.
