Workshop: Knitting Food

Saturday 28th September / 11AM @ The Maltings Theatre & Cinema

As part of a 13-year long project, artist Matt Hulse comes to Berwick with a film screening, art installation and hands-on activity all inspired by James Duthie – known as Dummy Jim - a deaf Scotsman who cycled solo to the Arctic Circle in 1951.

Two things that Dummy Jim loved best were knitwear and food – and here we invite you to weave these two themes together.

One of the stars of the film, knitter Jeni Reid invites you to join her for two knit-athons in which we will together knit a picnic for display.

Two sessions will take place over the festival – open to expert knitters and beginner knitters alike. No need to book, just bring your 4mm needles along and turn up!

• Friday 27th Sep, 2.30 – 5.30pm at Kazmiranda Café

• Saturday 28th Sep, 11 – 2pm at The Maltings Stage Door Bar (This session will be followed by a screening of the film Dummy Jim, at 3pm)
